We can’t do this without you.
Here are our volunteer opportunities
Right now our greatest need is for machinists to help us sew scrubs:
- If you have a sewing machine + overlocker and can sew from home, we will provide you with the precut fabric, haberdashery, labels, and assembly instruction. Complete this form and join our sewing WhatsApp group. Depending on where you are based, we’ll allocate you to one of our two area groups:
- NORTH ‒ covering North Newham (Forest Gate, East Ham, Stratford); Barking and Dagenham; Ilford
- SOUTH ‒ covering South Newham (incl Plaistow, Canning Town); Tower Hamlets
- If you don’t have an overlocker but can sew and travel, you can come to our hub in E16 and use the 3 overlockers and sewing machines at the hub. We’re open on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Masks and gloves will be provided, and only 3 people will be allowed in per session. Complete this form and join our sorting WhatsApp group. Please only join if you can commit to attending our sewing sessions at the hub.
Can you answer emails once a week? Help out with marketing and press? Or know much about fundraising? Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your availability and the areas you’d like to help us with.
Cutting and Sorting
Every Tuesday and Wednesday between 12 to 5pm, we create packs to send out to our sewing volunteers. We need a group of people who are happy to cut out scrubs, sort and create bags. We will have no more than 3 people in the space at one time so that we can safely social distance. Join our sorting WhatsApp group here.
Masks and Drawstring Bags
We work with local community groups too.
